Polianthes tuberosa or tuberose as it is commonly known, is a highly fragrant plant with numerous applications in aromatherapy. Despite what its name implies, the plant is not a type of rose, and it instead gets its name from the tube-like appearance of its roots. Originally from Central America and Mexico the plant is also known as night queen’ or mistress of the night because it only blooms at night.
