Liovena’s Sandalwood Essential Oils are high-quality oils ethically harvested from the Tamil Nadu region of India, similar to rare Mysore sandalwood.

Sandalwood has a unique warm and woody aroma. It has many uses in body care, skin care, natural perfumes and incense because of its unique aroma, calming effects and soothing properties. It has been used in India for several centuries in religious and spiritual practices and in traditional medicine for thousands of years.

The best known sandalwood is the Santalum album oil from India, but Sandalwood can also grow in Hawaii and Australia, although they are not considered to be the same quality as Indian Sandalwood. It is pretty well known that Sandalwood from the Mysore region of India is almost extinct due to over harvesting and poaching. This has created a need for more sustainable practices to meet demand.

Benefits

Sandalwood is a very good antiseptic agent and disinfectant. It can be mixed with a carrier oil and applied topically to prevent infections. It also has emollient properties and soothes and cools the skin. It can also be used to improve memory, strengthen concentration and relax the mind.

How to Use

Like many essential oils, sandalwood can be used in a diffuser for aromatherapy. This can be used to improve memory, clarity and relieve stress. In addition, sandalwood is very good for the skin. When mixed with a carrier oil and used topically, sandalwood’s excellent skin care properties can soothe and cool the skin, tighten it and prevent infections.
