Description

Polianthes tuberosa or tuberose as it is commonly known as a highly fragrant plant with numerous applications in aromatherapy. Despite what its name implies, the plant is not a type of rose, and it instead gets its name from the tuber-like appearance of its roots. Originally from Central America and Mexico, the plant is also known as night queen’ or mistress of the night because it only blooms at night. Historically, tuberose was used in the making of perfumes because of its strong irresistible floral fragrance but its uses have now been expanded due to its health benefits.
